    Growing Radish Round Red is easy, quick, and super rewarding—especially during the cooler months. Here’s a complete guide to help you grow crisp, juicy radishes at home!

    Right Time

    • Best time in most of India:
      October to February (cooler weather = better radishes).

    • In cooler hilly areas: March-April is also fine.

    Container

    • Depth: At least 8–10 inches deep.

    • Drainage: Must have holes at the bottom.

    Soil

    • Light, loose, and well-draining soil.

    • Mix:

      • 50% garden soil

      • 30% compost/vermicompost

      • 20% sand or cocopeat

    • The soil should feel crumbly, not sticky.

    Sowing the Seeds

    • Sprinkle seeds thinly on the surface.

    • Lightly cover them with a very thin layer of soil (about 0.5 cm).

    • Gently water after sowing.

    Watering

    • Keep the soil moist, not soggy.

    • Water daily or every alternate day (depending on heat).

    • Early morning watering is ideal.

    Sunlight

    • Full sun is best: at least 5–6 hours of direct sunlight daily.

    Care and Maintenance

    • Thinning: After 5–7 days when seedlings appear, remove extra ones — keep about 2–3 inches gap between plants.
